The first chilly blasts of winter in this vicinity were noticeable on Saturday morning last when the thermometer registered zero.

A number of Indians were in the village last week. White Thunder, James Decorah, and James Lincoln were among them.

Martin Fleming arrived here from California last week and is visiting with his daughter Mrs. D. Danes, who resides in the town of Thorp. His daughter, Frankie, is also paying her sister a visit.

The establishment here of a furniture or wooden ware factory is something this village should endeavor to accomplish. Of timber for such purposes there is a plenty for a number of years.

No country has ever experienced more delightful Autumn weather than Northern Wisconsin is favored with this year. All the roads are dry and in good condition, with no sign of stormy weather.

At a house raising on M. Bruner's place on Saturday last a rope gave away letting a piece of timber drop heavily on Math Bruner Jr., breaking one of his limbs at the ankle joint.
