Judge Newman granted a new trial in the case of State vs. Hugh Perkins, who was found guilty last week of manslaughter in the first degree. The new trial was granted on the grounds that one of the jurors had expressed an opinion at the time that Perkins broke jail in 1884.

The Misses Irena Keiper, Edith Leslie, Emma Sargent and Clara Bixby spent Sunday last with Mrs. R. Cornwell near Eidsvold where their attempt at fully enjoying themselves was entirely successful.
