Edwards, Dorthaleen (Marriage 1949)

The First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Colby was the scene of the wedding of Miss Dorthaleen Edwards, daughter of Mrs. Lulu Edwards, Colby and Harold E. Hardrath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hardrath, Unity. The marriage took place on Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock with the Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiating.

The bride was attended by Miss Dolly Krarup of Owen, and the groom’s brother, Halbert, served as best man.

The bride’s gown of white sheer marquisette over satin was fashioned with a full skirt ending in a train. Her finger-tip veil, edged with lace, was caught to a tiara of pearls. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses and gladioli.

The maid of honor wore a gown styled identically to that of the bride, in orchid marquisette with a matching sweetheart bonnet. Her bouquet consisted of red and yellow roses and gladioli.

A 7 o’clock dinner was served to relatives and friends, covers being laid for 30 at the home of the bride’s mother. In the evening, a reception was held, and a dance given at Walter’s Pavilion.

The bride is a graduate of Owen High School with the class of 1942, and has been employed the past year at Hotel Robinson. Following a short wedding trip, they will make their home on the groom’s farm near Unity.

Friends and relatives attending the wedding came from Atwood, Greenwood, Stevens Point, Unity and Owen.
