Married, at the residence of the bride’s mother, Mrs. L.R. Booth, Wednesday evening, Aug. 17th, 1898, by Rev. S. A. Hoffman, Mr. Ernest O. Miller of Stevens Point, and Miss DeEtte E. Booth of Colby, Clark Co., Wis.

At just 8 o’clock last evening, in the presence of the numerous guests assembled, the happy couple took their position beneath a large floral representation of the American flag, attended only the by little maids of honor, Nina Fern Cole, carrying a basket of beautiful roses, and Adelaide Enright bearing the ring, when Rev. S.A. Hoffman said the solemn and impressive words of the marriage service and pronounced them man and wife. After the ceremony the congratulations of the guests were showered upon the happy couple, after which refreshments were served, the tables being decorated in the national colors.

After refreshments the evening was spent in pleasant and social converse, many of the guests, especially the younger ones, remained until the arrival of the limited, on which the happy couple went to Chicago, where they will remain a day or two, then will visit Three Oaks and Bay City, Mich., Niagara, expecting to return here in about three weeks, but have not decided upon a permanent location.

Mr. Miller has been in the city about a year and a half, having come here at that time to look after business matters for Mrs. Booth and has been her business manager ever since. He had lived at Stevens Point for more than twenty years, where he was respected by all and had hosts of friends, and since coming here has, by his stirring and genial manners, made a host of friends.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. L.R. Booth; was born in this city and has spent her whole life here, except, of course, two years which she spent at Stevens Point attending the Normal. To count her friends it is only necessary to count her acquaintances.

There were many handsome and valuable presents and a host of congratulations and good wishes for the future.
