BioM: Franz, Arvilla (1942)
Wessel Franz Wedding (May 30, 1942) A very pretty wedding was performed on Saturday, May 30th at the West Side Reformed Church when Miss Arvilla Franz became the bride of Theodore Wessel at a 2:30 P.M. ceremony, Rev. P.H. Franzmeier officiated. The alter was decorated with baskets of bridal wreath and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Alvin Albert played Lohengrin's wedding march. The bride wore a fitted white chiffon gown with finger-tip veil caught to a headdress of orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of white roses. She was attended by her sister Mrs. Mike Bolf and Miss Irma Schwarze who wore aqua marquisette dresses and carried long sprays of peach gladiolas. Adolph Wessel, brother of the groom and Edwin Franz attended the groom. A dinner for the immediate family followed the ceremony. Mrs. Wessel has been employed in Milwaukee for the past 11 years. Mr. Wessel is cheesemaker at the West Eaton Factory where they will make their home. Out of town guests were Mrs. Frederick Hart and son Elroy, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Geo Mesick, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Starasta, Delafield and Elmer Meyer, Hales Corners. The Glenaer joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life. Source: Greenwood Gleaner Clipping Note: The West Eaton Cheese Factory was what is now Barr's Tavern, just south of the Junction of County G and County O, west of Greenwood.
