Surname: Blazer, Buss, Lewin, Bone, Sprengler, Thompson, Auberg, Hafemeister, Carlsen Source: Scrap book three: by Gertrude Wittlinger Becker Contributed by Halbert “Bud” Hardrath Blazer, Mr. & Mrs. Howard (50th – May 6, 1984) Prayers were offered and altar flowers were place at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee on Sunday, May 6, 1984 in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Howard and Florence Blazer. In the afternoon, their children hosted a celebration for the immediate family at their home in Owen. Howard Blazer, son of Joseph and Rose (Bone) Blazer, and the former Florence Buss, daughter of Carl and Esther (Lewin) Buss were married on May 8, 1934 at Thorp, with the Rev. Ferdinand Sprengler officiating. Attending the couple were Orville Thompson and Mrs. Veryl Auberg, who were also present to help celebrate. The couple farmed on various farms in Withee area and both retired from the Master Package Corp. in Owen; he in 1965 and she in 1980. They enjoy gardening. Children of the couple are Mrs. Raymond (Janice) Hafemeister of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; David Blazer of Withee; and Mrs. Kenneth (Carole) Carlsen of Sheldon, Wis. They have seven grandchildren.
