Miss Agnes May Whipple, daughter of Harry and Lucena Kauffman Whipple of 302 Wayne Street, Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Elmer J. Rickman, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rickman, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, were united in marriage at 2 o’clock on Thursday, June 27 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Kellner. Reverend Kirchkoefer officiated. The bride was preceded to the altar by her maid of honor, Mrs. Martin Goldberg, who was dressed in a floor length peach taffeta. She carried a bouquet of pink tea roses and sweet peas. Mr. Martin Goldberg, who is a nephew of the groom acted as his usher. Miss Ruth Whipple, the bride’s sister was the maid of honor. She was dressed in a pale green taffeta, made floor length with a ruffled cape and with ruffles around the bottom of the skirt. She also carried a bouquet of tea roses and sweet peas. She was met at the altar by the bestman, Alvin Rogers. To the music of the Bridal Chorus, played by Mrs. Rex A. Kirchkoefer, the bride entered the church on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage. Before the altar which was banked with pink and white roses, pink peonies and white daisies and which was lighted with white tapers the bride was met by the groom.

The bride was dressed in white satin, made Princess style with a lace yoke and full sleeves to the elbow, the lower sleeve was satin. The bride’s long veil fell from a lace cap trimmed with orange blossoms and seed pearls. Her only jewelry was a small gold pin, a keepsake of her mother’s. She carried a shower bouquet of Tallisman roses, swansonia, and sweet peas.

Immediately after the wedding a reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents. A 6 o’clock dinner was served to seventy-five relatives and friends. After a trip through southern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Rickman will reside at Wisconsin Rapids.

Mrs. Rickman is the oldest daughter of Mrs. Louise Kauffman of Loyal and a niece of Vernard and Ray Kauffman. She attended the Loyal High School and was graduated with the class of ’30. She made her home with the Kauffman’s for the four years. Mrs. Rickman attended the Teachers college at Stevens Point and has taught in Portage county for four years. The groom attended the Wisconsin Rapids high school and the Stevens Point Business College.

Mrs. Louise Kauffman of Loyal is visiting at the home of her son-in-law and attended the wedding of her granddaughter.
