Surname: Balch, Nelson Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 21 Feb. 1935 Balch, Betty (Marriage – 11 Feb. 1935) [First part of this is unreadable] – in the surprise marriage Feb. 11, at Waukegan, Ill., of Miss Betty Balch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Balch of this city, and Darrel Nelson, Wisconsin Rapids. The wedding had been planned for later in the year, but following Mr. Nelson’s visit to the Balch home a week ago Sunday the young couple decided to elopement after Miss Balch had announced she was going to return with Mr. Nelson to visit at his home. Miss Balch graduated from the Neillsville High School in the class of 1930 and attended school at Eau Claire and the Normal School at Stevens Point. She is a young lady of high character and charming personality. The bridegroom, who attended Lawrence College, holds a responsible position with the Prentiss Wabers Products Company of Wisconsin Rapids. He is the son of Mrs. Charle Nelson of that city with whom they will make their home.
