Hoffman, Leona (Marriage – 17 Oct. 1935)

Thursday morning, Oct. 17 at nine o’clock the Catholic Manse at Bakerville was the scene of a pretty Fall wedding when Miss Loena Hoffman became the bride of Mr. Karl Jahnke. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Joseph Willitzer in the presence of the immediate families. The couple was attended by Mrs. Blanchard Boller, a friend of the couple and Mrs. Geo. Grasser of Hatfield, a cousin of the bride.

The bride was charmingly attired in an ankle length gown of ivory flat crepe trimmed with Chantilly lace. Her long silk tulle veil was edged with embroidery and arranged in a band of orange blossoms. She wore a corsage of purple pansies and pink carnations with fern, tired with a pink satin bow and carried a pearl rosary. Her only ornament was a diamond set wrist watch, a gift of the groom. Mrs. Boller was attired in a lilac-shade trople crepe gown with gold accessories and wore a corsage of Orchid-ruffed petunias with fern, tied with a green satin bow. The groom and his attendant wore suits of deep blue.

The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hoffman and has lived all her life at her parental home in Lynn. She is a young lady of charming manners and personality and is well liked by everyone.

The groom, a cabinet maker by trade is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Jahnke and is a man of quiet nature and industrious habits.

The couple will make their home on the groom’s farm east of Lynn. The community extends their best wishes.

It has been stated in the paper before, that Miss Hoffman and Mr. Jahnke were married at a previous date, but it was a mistake at they were not married until Thursday evening, Oct. 17.
