Obit: Milbreit, Auguste (1864 – 1935)
Surname: Milbreit, Baumann, Sievert, Wegner Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 28 Nov. 1935 Milbreit, Auguste (9 Aug. 1864 – 22 Nov. 1935) Funeral services for Mrs. August Milbreit were held Monday afternoon from the Milbreit home and from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rev. William A. Baumann officiating at the residence and church and Rev. W. Schultz having charge of the rites at the grave. “Let Me be Thine Forever,” was sung by Miss Adelia Schumacher and Mrs. William A. Baumann, with E. Sievert accompanying at the church organ. Auguste, nee Wegner, wife of August Milbreit, was born Aug. 9, 1864, in Germany. Her parents came to this county a year later, settling at Milwaukee. The young daughter received her Christian training in Marquette County where she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church near Montello, Wis. On Nov. 23, 1886, Miss Auguste Wegner entered holy wedlock with August Milbreit of Westfeld, Wis. The young family remained at Westfield until 1900 when they moved to Amherst, where they stay until 1914, coming to the Town of Pine Valley in that year. In 1918, Mr. and Mrs. Milbreit retired to a little farm near the city limits. Their union was blessed with three sons, Mr. and Mrs. August Milbreit shared life’s journey for nearly 49 years, only a few hours lacking. After a lingering illness of months, she departed peacefully and closed her eyes in death last Friday evening, Nov. 22, attaining the age of 71 years, three months and 13 days. Those who mourn her death are her husband, three sons, Fred of Waupaca, John of Davenport, Ia., and William of Pine Valley, three brothers, Emil, Gustav and John, all of Westfield, and three grandchildren, other near relatives and a host of friends. During her residence here Mrs. Milbreit has won a circle of warm friends, who deeply sympathize with the bereaved husband and family.
