Deceased was born at Chilton, Wis., March 23rd, 1887, and moved to Colby with his parents about eight years ago. In 1907 he went to Beloit, where he worked as painter and decorator. While working at this trade he contracted a bronchial pneumonia in January of this year, causing his to have to rest and regain his health. Although having the best of medical assistance he continued to fall, and passed away at 6:30 Monday evening surrounded by his father, brothers and sisters.

Besides his father he leaves two brothers and six sisters to mourn his early death. They are Nick, Mrs. J.J. Stadtmiller and Miss Theresa of Colby; Ed Lex, Manitowoc, Mrs. W.S. Marjoribanks, Minneapolis, Mrs. J.F. Keleher, Chicago; Mrs. T. O’Connell, Beloit, and Mrs. Geo. E. Lex of Oshkosh.

Herman was a member of the Owls and the Beloit Lodge sent Messrs. A. Geyer and Chas. Niedecker with a floral design, to attend the funeral.

The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Church, this Thursday morning, at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. J.M. Schramm, and the large number who escorted the remains to the church and cemetery attest the high esteem in which the young man was held. The floral decorations were many and beautiful.
