Obit: Mosher, Mary E. (1856 – 1935)
Surnames: MOSHER FULLMER VINE Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 07/04/1935 Mosher, Mary E. (9 SEP 1856 – 25 JUN 1935) Died, at her home in our village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), at the ripe age of seventy-eight years, nine months and sixteen days, Mrs. Mary Eva Mosher. She had apparently enjoyed good health up to two weeks ago, when the infirmity of age finally overtook her and she passed away at nine o’clock Tuesday morning, June 25th. Mary Eva Fullmer was born in Bertie, Welland County, Ontario, Canada, on Sept. 9, 1856. On Dec. 7, 1881 she was united in marriage to Thomas O. Mosher at Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis. She came to Thorp of February of the following year with her husband and this has been her home for the past fifty-three years. Our little city and its hospitable people have ever held a warm corner of her heart. It was here the best days of her life were spent and when her last hour came and the God of Eternity called her to her everlasting rest, it was her desire that beneath the shade trees of our Silent City, on its sloping hillsides surrounded by the beauty, happiness and contentment of our people, should be the eternal abiding place of all that was mortal of her. Among us she ranked always as a kind neighbor, devoted wife and mother and a true friend, and withal a woman of heroic mould in bravely meeting the stern requirements and often the disappointments of life. Besides an aged husband, she leaves to mourn, one daughter, Mrs. C.K. Vine of La Crosse, Wis., one brother, Lee Fullmer of Portland, Oregon, one sister, Hettie Fullmer of Marshfield, Wis., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon, Rev. James Irish officiating, and interment following in the East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Childs, R.J. Brunner, R.G. Lawrence, A.W. Emerson, Wm. Schoch and Wm. S. Wagner. Honorary pallbearers, Dr. W.R. McCutcheon and Geo. Zillmann.
