Daellenbach, Emil F. (2 March 1908 – 10 Jan. 1987)

Abbotsford – Emil F. Daellenbach, 78, Abbotsford, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit, where he had been admitted Dec. 3.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, with the Rev. Daniel Ahrens officiating. Burial will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Nikolay, Robert L. Anderson, Rollan Freimund, Roland Hake, John Bremer, and Ed Riegert. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ray Kraemer, Clarence Nelson, Tim Jacobson, Al Uhlig and Floyd Klemetson, and Paul Kramas.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, and from noon until service time Wednesday at the church.

He was born March 2, 1908, near Dorchester, to John and Bertha Daellenbach, and attended Curtiss public schools.

He married Lucille Lindau Oct. 18, 1934. She survived. He was an area businessman, operating a service repair shop in Abbotsford for eight years. He then owned and operated Emil’s Music Center, Abbotsford, for 28 years with his wife and son. He was a noted musician for 60 years as the leader of Emil’s Band, working with many area musicians. Upon retiring from his business, he and his wife continued playing for many community functions.

He was currently president of the Musician’s Local 194 of Abbotsford, which he started and has been a member for 43 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and a past member of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1984.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, James, Austin, Texas; a brother, Conard, Manitowoc; two sisters, Martha Hack, Middleton; and Mrs. Art (Rosa) Folland, Tolley, N. D.; two grandsons, and a great-grandson.
