Gladioli and larkspur, in attractive arrangements, decorated Holy Name Church at Wilmot, Wednesday morning for the marriage of Miss Beatrice Vera Dalton, daughter of Mrs. Joseph E. Dalton, Silver Lake, and Michael Albert Verkuilen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Verkuilen, Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.

The nuptial were solemnized at 9:30 o’clock with the Rev. John Finian, pastor of the church, officiating. The double ring ceremony was used.

Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and “I Love Your Truly” were organ selections played by Mrs. Anton Schlax. Miss Grace Carey sang “At Dawning,” Gounod’s “Ave Maria,” “O Salutaris” and the entire music of the nuptial high mass.

Lovely in all satin mid-Victorian gown with a train and long sleeves, and a silk net veil edged with lace and fashioned into a cap at the head, the bride walked to the altar along a white carpeted aisle. She carried a shower bouquet of roses, lilies of the valley and baby’s breath.

Preceded her were her sister, Miss Ethel Dalton, Silver Lake, and the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Leona Verkuilen, Thorp, Wis., who attended as bridesmaids, and Barbara Ann Cesnik, Hillsboro, Wis., six year old niece of the bridegroom who served as flower girl.

Crepe gowns with organdy trims were worn by the bridesmaids, Miss Dalton’s being in pale yellow, and Miss Verkuilen’s in blue. Large picture hats and lace mitts to match their frocks and ruffled organdy muffs with corsages of tiger lilies and roses completed their costumes.

The little flower girl wore a long, ruffled, organdy dress of pale green, and a ring bow in her hair. She carried a basket of larkspur and baby’s breath.

Donald Gleason, Milwaukee, and Malcolm Dalton, Silver Lake, a brother of the bride, attended the bridegroom.

Fifty guests were entertained at a reception and dinner at Our County Club, those from away including Mr. and Mrs. John Verkuilen and daughters Leona of Thorp and Miss Elsie Verkuilen of Milwaukee.

Mr. Verkuilen and his bride left for a month’s motor trip through the western states. After Sept. 1 they will reside in Gary, Ind., where the bridegroom is a vocational instructor.

The bride was graduated from Wilmot High School in 1926, and from Whitewater State Teachers’ College in 1928, where she was an active member of the Thespian Dramatic Club. She has been engaged as instructor in the mathematics department of the Gary Public School.

The bridegroom is a graduate of the Thorp High School and of the Industrial Department of Oshkosh State Teachers’ College, from which he received a bachelor of education degree. He was a member of Iota Alpha Sigma and the Marquette Society and for his active participation in school activities, he was present a meritorious service award in 1928. Since his graduation he has been an instructor in the Gary Public School System.
