Obit: Muetzelburg, Karl (1852 – 1936)
Surnames: MUETZELBURG LOENHARDT DEGEN The Loyal Tribune 06 February 1936 Muetzelburg, Karl (12 MAR 1852 – 24 JAN 1936) Karl Muetzelburg, a resident of this community for 54 years, was born on March 12, 1852 at Blankenburg, Germany. In early infancy he was baptized in the name of the triune God and then later instructed in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian religion and confirmed. At the age of 16 years in company with his parents he left his native land and came to the U. S. A., locating first in Manitowoc County. In 1882 he moved to Clark County onto a farm in the Town of Loyal where he lived until 1920 when he retired and moved into the Village of Loyal. The deceased was a member of the local Trinity Lutheran Church. On Jan. 13th, he was taken ill with a heart ailment which caused his death. On Jan. 24th at 6 A.M. the Lord called him by a blessed death as we have all reason to believe from this world to a better world. He attained the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 12 days. He leaves to mourn his death two sisters, viz: Mrs. Hannah Loenhardt of Medford and Mrs. Minnie Degen of the village of Loyal. Besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends who have our hearts sympathy in their bereavement. Funeral services were held last week Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence, followed by services in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial took place in the Pine Grove cemetery. Pall bearers were: Fred Degen, Ed. Haslow, Wm. Loppnow, Frank Luchterhand, Oscar Ratzburg and Aug. Witt. The Tribune joins with the community in offering sympathy to the bereaved.
