Obit: Eder, Elizabeth (1858 – 1911)
Surnames: EDER FIRNSTAHL MEYER HEINZEN Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 05/04/1911 Eder, Elizabeth (JAN 1858 – 27 APR 1911) Mrs. Michael Eder of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), who went to Stanley, N.D. about Feb. 1st to stay a few months with her son, M.J., and daughter, Mrs. G.W. Firnstahl, died at her daughter’s house on Thursday evening, April 27, 1911, about 6:30 o’clock, just four months, to the day and hour, from the death of her husband, he having passed away suddenly in this city, Dec. 27th, 1910, between the hours of six and seven. Her death was also sudden and unexpected. She had been sick about ten days, but not seriously. On the evening of her death she received a stroke of apoplexy and passed quickly and peacefully from this life. The news of her death received here Friday was a great shock to her relatives and friends. The remains arrived here on the 8:30 train Monday morning, accompanied by M.J. Eder and Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Firnstahl, and were met at the depot by the Christian Mothers, of which society she was an honored member, and escorted to the residence and from there to St. Mary’s Church where the funeral services were held at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. H.J., Artmann. Elizabeth Meyer was born near Milwaukee in January 1858. She was married to Michael Eder, Nov. 9th, 1876, and two years later came to Colby with her husband and resided on a farm until about eight years ago, when they moved into the city to reside. She leaves to mourn her death, one son and two daughters, M.J. and Celia (Mrs. G.W. Firnstahl) of Stanley, N.D., and Emma (Mrs. Frank Heinzen) of Coaling, Calif., and fiv brothers, Mike, Joe and Frank Meyer of Fredonia, Andrew Meyer of Milwaukee, and Charles Meyer of Colby, all of whom ere here for the funeral except, Emma, and Joe and Frank Meyer.
