Mick, Madeline (17 Nov. 1856 – 23 Jan. 1936)

Mrs. Madeline Servaty Mick, passed away at midnight, Jan. 23, 1936 in Minneapolis, where she has made her home with her son Emil. She has been in falling health in the past several years.

Mrs. Mick was born in Belvidere, Ill., Nov. 17, 1856.

On June 29, 1876, she was married to Ernest Frederick Mick. For a time they lived in Milwaukee, later moving to Neillsville, where Mr. Mick was engaged in the cooper business.

Mr. Mick passed away Sept. 29, 1894. To this union four children were born Emil Mick of Minneapolis, Mrs. J. H. Stiehl (Catherine) of Merrillan; Carl (deceased) and John Mick of Canton, Ohio. After the daughter was married, Mrs. Mick disposed of her home on the north side, where they resided for many years, and has since made her home with her children. The two son Carl and John entered the C. C. Sniteman Dry Store when boys, and later took up pharmacy in a Chicago College of Pharmacy.

Carl passed away on Jan. 4, 1923, in Chicago, where he operated a drug store. For a number of years John owned a drug store in Chicago and at present is in the drug business in Canton, Ohio.

Mrs. Mick is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Joseph Hinds (Kate), of Belvidere, Ill., and two brothers, Chas. Servaty of Fresno, Calif.; and John Servaty of Cable, Wis. She leaves also four grandsons and three granddaughters.

Two sisters, Julie Servaty, former superintendent of Clark County, and Mrs. Will Klopf, passed away a number of years ago.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Schiller’s Funeral Home, Rev. W. F. Longenecker, officiating.

Those from out-of-town attending the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Emil Mick of Minneapolis; Mr. John Mick, Canton, Ohio; Mrs. J. H. Stiehl, Merillan, Wis.; Mr. John Servaty, Cable, Wis.; and Mr. C. J. Klopf, of Madison Wisconsin.

Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Mick was a lady who was highly respected by all who knew her. Her old neighbors here remember her kindly ways and recall her efficiency and the motherly care of her family during the years of widowhood.
