O’Reilly, Mary (Marriage – 8 June 1936)

Mary O’Reilly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. O’Reilly of Granton, on June 8 at 8 a.m. became the bride of Gilbert, Yankee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto F. Yankee, Town of Lynn, Father Peter Weber officiating in the double ring ceremony at St. Mary’s Church, Neillsville.

Miss O’Reilly was beautifully attired in an ankle length crepe dress trimmed with rose beige Spanish lace. She wore a white hat, white slippers and white gloves and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. Her maid of honor, Emma O’Reilly, a sister, wore a handsome aqua crepe dress, white hate, gloves and slippers and an arm corsage of sweet peas. F. L. O’Reilly, brother of the bride was best man.

After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to close relatives at the home of the bride’s parents.

Miss O’Reilly is a graduate of the Granton High School and the rural course of the State Teacher’s college, Eau Claire, and has been teaching at the Audubon school in Sherwood. She is a young lady of winsome personality and highly spoken of by all who know her. The bridegroom attended school in the Town of Lynn and at present is engaged in farming. He is a young man of quiet, industrious habits and enjoys a wide circle of friends.

The young couple left on a two weeks’ honeymoon trip to the southern part of the state and will make their home on a farm in the town of Lynn.

Out of town guests at the wedding are T. J. O’Reilly, Stevens Point; F. L. O’Reilly, Milwaukee; William Marek, Chicago; and Joe Taxi, Chicago.
