--------- Raab, Evelyn (9 JUN 1936)

An 8 o’clock double-ring ceremony June 9th at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Neillsville, united in marriage Miss Evelyn Raab, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Raab, Loyal, and Harlan Bergemann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bergemann, Granton. The low mass was celebrated by the Rev. Peter Weber.

A white satin gown of princess lines and a veil were worn by the bride. She carried her prayer book and a shower bouquet of roses and swansonia.

Mrs. L. A. Duvall was dressed in orchid taffeta as matron of honor, and as bridesmaid, Miss Ellen Bergemann wore a frock of yellow net. Both wore shoulder bouquets of sweet peas and roses.

Veil bearers were Janice Baird, Greenwood, dressed in yellow organdy and Dorothy Jean Kauffman, Loyal, in green organdy. Both are cousins of the bride.

Ronald Davel, also a cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer. He carried the rings in a calla lily.

L. A. Davel and Earl Raab were attendants of the groom.

Mrs. Charles Barr, an aunt of the bride, entertained the bridal party at breakfast after the ceremony. Dinner was later served to 35 guests at the home of the bride’s parents. Flowers and yellow and orchid streamers were used for decorative purposes in the home. Mavis Berg, Ethel Sterr, Elsie Shupe and Ada Rous assisted serving the dinner.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School, class of 1935. The groom, a graduate of the Granton High School, class of 1926, attended business college in Milwaukee the following year. In 1929 he began his employment with the State Banking department, which position he now holds.

The Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy wedded life.

Guests from out of town were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Gus Bergemann and family, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Striegel, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barr, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fahey, Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Hastings Baird, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Shupe, Spencer; Erlin Bergemann, Menomonie; and Harold Bergemann, Wausau.
