Dormady, Amanda (July 23, 1867 - October 25, 1950)

Mrs. Dan (Amanda) Dormady, age 83, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Schmolke, in Conrad, MT, on Wednesday, October 25, 1950.

Amanda Scholtz was born July 23, 1867, at Spring Valley, MN. She came here 35 years ago and has resided in the town of Hewett since. In 1886, she was married to Dan Dormady of Spring Valley, MN.

Ten children were born to this union, seven of whom survive their mother; Lyle Dormady of Fairfield, MT, Frank Dormady of Great Falls, MT, Mrs. Alfred (Verna) Schmolke of Conrad, MT, Francis Dormady of Alma Center, Dan Dormady of Neillsville, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Oldham of Neillsville and Mrs. Herman (Gladys) Tacher of Brawley, CA. Preceding Amanda in death were her husband, Dan, two daughters, Violet Dormady and Georgianna Finder, and one son, Tracy.

Funeral Services were conducted on Monday at two o’clock from the Bergemann Funeral Home, with the Rev. Banks Blocher officiating. Burial was made in the Town of Hewett Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Paul Albrecht, Walter Amidon, Charles and Earl Marden, Frank and John Putz. Mrs. Paul Albrecht was in charge of the floral offerings. Joan Cummings sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Jess W Scott.

Relatives from out of town attending the services were Lyle Dormady of Fairfield, MT, Mrs. Alfred Schmolke, Conrad, MT, and Francis Dormady of Alma Center.
