Hanschman, Herman (29 Sept. 1850 – 23 Aug. 1936)

Herman Hanschman, a resident of Neillsville for about 30 years passed away Sunday, August 23, 1936, after a long illness. His health began to fall about six years ago, and for the past four years he was totally blind.

Herman Hanschman was born in Farmington, Washington County, Wisconsin; September 29, 1850. He lived there until he was 33 years old when he came to Clark County and settled on land in the Town of Grant about six miles east of Neillsville.

He was married to Miss Louise Linskow, November 6, 1884. They continued to live on their farm until thirty years ago when they moved to Neillsville, which has been their home ever since.

He was a man of quiet tastes, industrious and honest and well liked by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and one son Edward, who is married and lives on a farm near the city, and has three children.

Mr. Hanschman leaves also one brother, William Hanschman and one sister, Mrs. Anton Unger both of Neillsville.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Wm. Baumann officiating.

Relatives from away attending the funeral are Mrs. A. Stone, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Klesendorf and son, and Miss Eunice Grulstorf all of Detroit, Michigan.
