Surnames: GARBISCH DAVIS GANNON CZARNITZKI HELM WALKENHAUER Source: MARSHFIELD NEWS HERALD (Marshfield, Wood Co., Wis.) 11/24/1975; P 16 --------- Garbisch, Daniel (25 NOV 1903 – 22 NOV 1975) GRANTON, Clark Co., Wis. – A Granton resident, Daniel Garbisch, died Saturday afternoon at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. He was 71 years of age. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Everett Schleef, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Born Nov. 25, 1903, in the town of Grant, Mr. Garbisch married the former Charlotte Davis on Sept. 29, 1932, at Berlin. She preceded him in death Aug. 18, 1972. After his marriage he lived on a farm in the town of York, Clark Co. and later moved to Granton. He worked as an electrician and plumber for the Bluett Hardware Co. here and alter established his own business. He was a member of the Granton Rotary Club, Fire Department and had served as village clerk here for many years. He also was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its dartball team, and had served as secretary on the church board. He received his education in the parochial school in the town of Grant and the Granton High School and graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic. Survivors include a son, Duane, La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. George (Jacquelyn) Gannon, Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Jon (Kathleen) Czarnitzki, Davenport, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Helm and Mrs. Louis (Adelia) Helm, both of Granton, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Walkenhauer, Burnett; a brother, Edward, Granton, and 10 grandchildren. A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.
