Grap, Wilhelmine (10 Oct. 1839 – 21 Dec. 1936)

Mrs. Wilhelmine Grap, one of the oldest pioneers of this vicinity passed away at her home near Globe Dec. 21, 1936, at the advanced age of 97 years two months and 11 days. Her death was due to old age and complications arising from old age.

Wilhelmine Schultz was born at Neumack, Brandenburg, Germany, Oct. 10, 1839. She was there married to Ferdinand Grap in 1886, and there their three children were born.

In 1882 they came to America and settled in the town of Weston where they opened up a farm in the wilderness. For 54 years. Mrs. Grap was a resident of this county. Mr. Grap preceded her in death, Mar5ch 4, 1908, since then she has lived on, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, kindly cared for and revered by these generations of relatives and others of the community.

Her three children, Gustav, Ferdinand and Augusta survive her together with 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday, Dec. 24, W. Motzkus officiating. Burial took place in the Lutheran Cemetery at Globe.

The pallbearers were seven of the grandsons: Franklin, Walter, Frederick, Delbert, Harvey, Erwin and Marvin Grap.

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Robert Lemke, Viola E. Grap, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Grap and son Gerhard, and Walter Grap, all of Milwaukee, and Ole Lowe from Eau Claire.

We miss the dear form in the old rocking chair, and the cheery smile she had for all.

But we shall meet again in a fairer land, where joys never cease, and tears never fall; for the God whom she loved has taken her hand.

And is leading her home to the promise land.
