Surnames: Palchik, Poler, Hohenstein, Reichenbach, Reinart, Young, Michalak, Elpert, Fields Source: Banner Journal (Black River Falls, Jackson County, WI) May 10, 2006 Palchik, Gladys Anita (September 10, 1918 - May 3, 2006) Gladys Palchik, age 87, of Hatfield, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at her home on Arbutus Lane. Gladys Anita Palchik was born on September 10, 1918, in Granton, the daughter of Pete and Mary (Poler) Hohenstein. She farmed in Merrillan and owned and operated a bait shop in Hatfield. She is survived by eight children, Kathleen (Clayton) Reichenbach of Merrillan, Robert (Delores) Reinart of Beloit, Raymond (Margo Young) Reinart of Granton, Kenny (Elvina) Reinart of Sparta, Larry (Diane) Reinart of Neillsville, Mary Ann Michalak of Pittsville, Joanne Michalak of Merrillan and Linda (Ken) Elpert of Unity. Gladys is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin Reinart; her second husband, LeRoy Palchik; her parents; three brothers, Herbert, Harold and Sunny Hohenstein; and a sister, Elsie Fields. Funeral services for Gladys were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor David Johnson officiated. Music was provided by her grandson, Daniel Michalak, soloist. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Casket bearers were her grandsons, Mick, and Daniel Michalak, Mike, Robby, and Larry Reinhart Jr., and Jim Reichenbach. The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Gladys’ family with funeral arrangements. |
