Zickert, Florence (Marriage – 13 May 1937)

A beautiful home wedding was solemnized at the Reinhard Zickert home Thursday, May 13, at 8:30 p.m. when Miss Florence Zickert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Zickert, York, and Mr. Milburn Troutner, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Troutner, Bloomington, Ill., were united in holy wedlock, with the ring ceremony, Rev. H. F. Leschenzki, of the Lutheran Church of Loyal, Wis., officiating.

The bride was attired in a most beautiful gown of white satin and lace, and a finger tip veil which fell from a white satin halo head dress. She carried a spring bouquet of white delphiniums and bridal wreath.

The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Jefferson Keach, who wore a gown of peach silk organdie, and carried a bouquet of pink and blue delphiniums and jonquils.

The groom and attendant, Jefferson Keach, wore dark suits and carnation boutonnieres.

After the service, which was witnessed by about 50 relatives and friends of the couple, a wedding supper was served.

Free music was furnished by a charivari group also during the course of the evening.

The bride, after attending high school here, was employed for a time in Granton, but for the past two years has been employed in Highland Park, Illinois. She has a friendly disposition and a host of friends.

The groom is not well known here, but in the short visits here has made many friends. He has also attended high school, and has spent some time in the U. S. Army, getting his discharge this spring. He now holds a position in Highland Park.

The occasion has a double meaning for the bride, May 13 also being her birthday.

They spent until Sunday afternoon visiting friends, and attending their sister and brother’s confirmation at Neillsville, and then left on the “400”, from Eau Claire for their future home in Highland Park.

Those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Zickert, and Mrs. Percy Zickert, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zickert and children, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Grosnick, Mr. and Mrs. Rex. Krejci and son, Mr. and Mrs. William Diercks and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. William Roehl and family, Mr. and Mrs. H. Grosnick and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, Mrs. F. Quast, Mrs. B. McNaul and Fred Lear.
