Boardman, Francis Roger (January 28, 1930 - November 13, 2005)

Francis Roger Boardman, age 75, of Montesano, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Montesano Health & Rehab. He was born January 28, 1930, in Thorp, to Melvin and Grace (Christian) Boardman. Francis was one of 11 children. He was raised in Thorp. He served in the military during the Korean War from January 31, 1947 until June 7, 1952. After serving time in Korea, he was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA.

Roger married his first wife, Marjorie Easter, in 1948 and they moved to Montesano that same year. She passed away in 1983. He married Christine Wisdom, at his Montesano home September 8, 1984, where she now survives him.

He is also survived by his sons: Michael Boardman of Elma, David and Brian Boardman of Montesano; a daughter Barbara Yucha of Elma and seven grandchildren.

Roger worked on a lot of commercial sites such as dams and the Satsop Nuclear Plant. He was a lifetime member of Montesano VFW and a member of Elma Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and racing cars. Roger attended the Episcopal Church. He was a well accomplished person and a great provider.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Wynoochee Cemetery in Montesano. A reception was held at the Episcopal Church following the graveside service.
