Krumrey, Conrad (17 Oct. 1855 – 2 July 1937)

Conrad Krumrey, who had lain partially unconscious in the Madison General Hospital for several weeks passed away Friday, July 2, in his eighty-second year.

Mr. Krumrey was born in Sheboygan County, Oct. 17, 1855, and grew to manhood there, and was there married to Miss Annie Shaw. For a time he was engaged in the cheese business. Later he moved to Neillsville and established a dray line, adding other activities during the years, such as gasoline and oils, coal, etc., carrying on an extensive business until he retired some years ago. For several years he was oil inspector for this district.

His first wife died in 1890 and about two years later he married Miss Clementine Calway, who with their infant son died in 1894. In 1899 he married Mrs. Anna Dangers, who passed away about a year ago.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Lacher of Waukesha, and Miss Mary Krumrey, who lives in the east. He leaves also nephews and nieces.

Mr. Krumrey took an active part in the progress of Neillsville and vicinity for many years. He also was much interested in politics, being an enthusiastic supporter of the principles advocated by his brother, the late Senator Henry Krumrey.

The past winter he spent in Florida and was planning a trip to California, when was stricken with paralysis, while visiting in Madison and was taken to the Hospital where he died. Cremation took place in Milwaukee. Funeral services were held at Plymouth Wednesday and Masonic services in the Temple at Neillsville this forenoon, Thursday.
