Surname: Smitke, Bryan, Brady Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 30 Sept. 1937 Smitke, Cecelia Amelia (Marriage – 15 Sept. 1937) Smitke-Bryan Nuptials On September 15th, the fifty-fifth birthday of the bride’s father Frank Smitke, Cecelia Amelia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smitke, Thorp, became the bride of John B. Bryan, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Bryan, of Neillsville. The ceremony was read by the Rev. Charles D. Brady, at Abbotsford, in the Rectory of St. Bernard, after a bridal party attended the 8 o’clock mass. A wedding breakfast at the bride’s home followed the ceremony. The wedding dinner was served at the Silver Dome club for the immediate families and the reception and dance followed. Bryan, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Bryan, of Neillsville. The ceremony was read by the Rev. Charles D. Brady, at Abbotsford, in the Rectory of St. Bernard, after a bridal party attended the 8 o’clock mass. The bride’s gown was made of white silk satin with a all over lace trim, with a long train. Over the dress the bride wore a circular fingertip veil which fell from a cap of orange buds. In her bouquet were white roses, baby breath and asters. Miss Virginia Hass, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor, and Miss Al Vera Hubbard, friend of the bride and groom, as bridesmaid were gowned alike in silk satin only color was different. Miss Hass, arbor with accessories of peach, Miss Hubbard, peach with accessories of arbor and both carried gladiolas and asters. Frederick Smitke, brother of the bride, best man and the usher was Harvey Boie, cousin of the bride. The groom and his attendants wore oxford grey suits. A wedding breakfast at the home of the bride followed the ceremony and a wedding dinner was served at 5 o’clock at the Silver Dome club for the immediate families and the reception and dance followed. |
