Surname: Lapp, Rodman, French, Longenecker Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 2 Dec. 1937 Lapp, Almira (30 Nov. 1861 – 1937) Mrs. Almira Lapp was born to Lyman and Debora Rodman, Pine Valley Township, Nov. 30, 1861, being 76 years old on the day of death, having passed away Tuesday afternoon at five o’clock. Her sister, Mrs. Robert French had planned a family dinner and she and her family made arrangements to come to Neillsville to surprise Mrs. Lapp on her birthday. She was married March 28, 1879, to William Lapp, the couple settling first on a farm in the town of York (now owned by John Pozimbke), later working a number of farms in Clark county before purchasing a farm near the mounds north of Neillsville in 1884, where they made their home until about 1914, when ill health forced Mr. Lapp to retire. One daughter, Mrs. Jennie Fischer was born to them, and she with aged father survive to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother. She is also survived by one grandson, Irvin Fischer, a great-grandson, 15 years old, all of Greenwood; her sister, Mrs. Robert French of Levis, and one brother, Herschel Rodman, of Waukegan, Ill. Mr. Lapp was active in her lodge and church work until Mr. Lapp’s illness required her almost constant care. She was also a good practical nurse for a number of years she gladly assisted her friends, relatives and neighbors. She was a member of the Congregational church, Roy-Neighbor Lodge and several other organizations. The funeral will be held Saturday at Lowe’s Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m., interment taking place in the Neillsville Cemetery, Rev. G. W. Longenecker will conduct the rites.
