Obit: Conrad, Helena (1889 – 1934)
Surnames: CONRAD TAUBE SCHMIDT GOETZ GROMBO SCHULTZ LINDNER OELKE BINGER HUNDT SANSTROM --------- The Loyal Tribune 12 July 1934 --------- Conrad, Helena (19 MAR 1889 – 5 JUL 1934) Mrs. Carl Conrad, residing in the Town of Sherman, Clark County, who has hovered between life and death for the past nine months, was called to the great beyond on Thursday. Nee Helena Taube was born on the 19th day of March, 1889 in Germany. At the age of 4 months she came with her parents from her birthplace to America, coming directly to Marshfield, Wood County, where she remained for about eleven years when the family moved to McMillan. On October 1, 1907, she was united in marriage to Carl Conrad of the Town of Sherman at Marshfield Lutheran Church by Rev. Thom. The couple lived at McMillan for two years and then moved to a farm near Veefkind where she spent the remainder of her life. On Thursday, July 5, 1934, at 1:00 A. M. she was called by her heavenly father from this world of suffering into eternity a better world as we all have reason to believe and hope. Thus she attained the age of 45 years, 3 months and 15 days. The deceased will be remembered as a kind and loving wife and mother, a good homemaker, who worked hard and who has many friends who will certainly miss her. She was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. About a year and a half ago she was afflicted with cancer and for the past nine months was confined to her bed. Everything that medical science and loving hands could do was done for her. She was a brave and patient sufferer. She submitted to several treatments at Marshfield hospital, hoping to get well, but the dreaded disease for which there seems to be no human help took its course, slowly but surely claiming its victim. The deceased now leaves to mourn her early departure her sorrowing husband, 3 daughters, and 2 sons, namely Mrs. George (Lorena) Schmidt, Mrs. Roman (Adella) Goetz both of Heintown, Anna, Alfred and Oscar at home; her aged father Carl Taube and one brother and 8 sisters all of Milwaukee, namely: Mrs. Bertha Grombo, Mrs. Tilly Schultz, Mrs. Eleanor Lindner, Mrs. Harriet Oelke, Mrs. Elsie Cramer, Edward Taube, Mrs. Alma Binger, Mrs. Minnie Hundt and Mrs., Clara Sanstrom, two grandsons and two grand daughters, besides numerous relatives and a host of friends who have our hearts sympathy in their bereavement. |
