There will be an auction on the farm of Jack Galligan 3 miles west and ½ mile south of the village on Saturday March 21st at which he will dispose of his entire stock of cattle, sheep, hogs, and farm implements etc. Sale begins at 9 o’clock a.m.

From present indications there will be considerable more building done this year than last, already the sound of the hammer and saw are heard. The frame of the new residence of Ted Binning is up and will some be enclosed, several others have the material on the ground ready to commence operations as soon as the condition of the ground will permit.

The dance given by manager Ben Tanner Saturday night was well attended and everybody certainly enjoyed themselves. Helstein’s orchestra of Colby furnished music for the occasion and was pronounced by those present to be first class. Spencer, Colby, Abbotsford and Dorchester were represented.

TEACHER’S EXAMINATION

For Marathon County will be held as follows:

Norrie - March 23, 24

Mosinee - March 23, 24

Wausau - March 26, 27, 28

Unity - March 26, 27, 28

Edgar - March 31, April 1

First and Second grades will be given at Wausau and Unity. All examination will begin promptly at 9 o’clock of the first day. The examinations at Wausau will be held in the new county school building on the west side.

Five standings above 80 may be filed by those now holding, certificates, but no standings will be refilled which were refilled at a previous examination. Dated at Wausau, Wis. This 2d day of March 1903

Stoner Warum came up from St. Point Tuesday with a crew of men who immediately left for the Big Eau Pleine where the Weeks Lumber Co, have 8 million feet of logs, which they will drive to St. Point. C. Nelson and son, Ed, accompanied them in the capacity of cook and cookee. Geo. Greenwood will also be employed as one of the crew. Bernard Robinson of the town of Hull has a crew of men driving the logs out of Dell Creek.

C. J. Eklund of Marshfield representing the Champion Harvesting Co. was here several days this

week in the interest of the Co.
