In the United Lutheran Church marriage vows were exchanged Sunday, Feb. 14, 1937, by Alice C. Dahl, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dahl, Greenwood, and Louis Behrens, also of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.). The bride was given in marriage by her father, with the Rev. M.K. Aaberg officiating at the double ring ceremony at high noon.

The musical program included Loghengrin’s “Bridal Chorus”, as processional and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March”, as the recessional. The vocal numbers consisted of two solos, “At Dawning” and “Because” by Mrs. Herbert Schwarze, and “O Promise Me” by Clifford Peterson. Mrs. Clifford Peterson was at the piano.

A princess gown of ivory satin with circular skirt and train, and long tapering sleeves, was worn by the bride. Her veil was held in a tiara set with tear pearls and she carried a white prayer book, which was covered with camellia and sweet peas. Miss Irma Behrens, sister of the groom and maid of honor, chose as her gown a simple creation, floor length of aquamarine taffeta, with matching hat, and gold sandals. Her flowers were talisman roses and sweet pears.

The Misses Tomina Hogelee and Irene Zimmerman, as bridesmaids, were attired in floor length gowns of tea rose taffeta with matching hats and silver sandals. They also carried talisman roses and sweet peas.

The groom was attended by Wilson Jacobson, as best man, Clifford Peterson and Herbert Schwarze performed the duties of ushers. The groom and his attendants wore dark suits with white carnations at the lapel.

The little Misses Carol and Margie Jackson, nieces of the groom, were flower girls, and carried a basket of red rose petals.

St. Valentine’s Day, and the commemoration of the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Albert T. Dahl, parents of the bride, was the theme carried in the reception and luncheon held in the church parlors, subsequent to the nuptials. Seventy-five invited guests were present. Favors consisted of bridal place cards and silver bell canopy nut cups. A St. Valentine’s wedding cake, before the bridal couple, and a large cake iced in ornamental silver, before Mr. and Mrs. Dahl, adjourned the bridal table. Mr. Elmer Johnson was master of ceremonies.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Peterson, Potosi, Wis.; Miss Irma Behrens, Eau Claire; Miss Tomina Hogelee, Chicago, Ill.; Miss Irene Zimmerman, Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Peterson, Montfort; James Redvren and Miss Lillian Behrens, Menomonie; Mrs. Louise Roseman, Loyal,a nd Mr. and Mrs. Odin Wang, Black River Falls.

Mr. and Mrs. Behrens left shortly after the ceremony for Minneapolis and St. Paul. They will be at home to their many friends after March 1sst, at Greenwood, where the groom is employed by Standard Oil.
