BioM: Healy, Ethel (1903)
Surnames: Healy, Thayer, Cook, Salter, Binning Source: Marathon County Register Newspaper (Unity, Clark Co., WI.) June 26,1903 ------Healy, Ethel (Marriage - June 1903) The marriage of Miss Ethel Healy, youngest daughter of Mr. And Mrs. C. Healy to Mr. Percy Thayer was solemnized at 4 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon at the home of the brides’s parents, the Rev. A.W. Cook of Fifield officiating. The house was beautifully decorated with fern and smilax. The bride was attired in white silk and was attended by the Misses Belle Salter and Mabel Binning, while the groom was attended by Messrs. E. J. Gelay and Geo. Binning. Following the ceremony and the hearty congratulation that were showered upon the happy couple, a splendid wedding supper was served of which about 35 relatives and intimate friends of the couple partook. The presents were numerous and costly, showing the respect in which the two are held by their friends, the gifts comprised much of silver and china. Both parties to the union are too well and favorably known to need any eulogy from our humble pen. The bride was born in and has been a resident of our village all her life and is held in high esteem by her many friends. The groom has been a resident of the village several years, engaged in the furniture and real estate business and is an ambitions (ambitious) and successful young man. They left the following morning for Fond du Lac and other Fox River points where they expect to visit for a time when they will return to Unity and make their home on the west side where the groom has prepared a neat little cottage for his bride. Their many friends join with the Register in extending best wishes and hearty congratulations. The following relatives from out of town were present: Misses Maud Coo, Emeline, and Madge Christy of Neenah; Rev. and Miss Ethel Cook, of Fifield; Mr. and Mrs. G. Anderson of Eidsvold; Mrs. E. W. Healy of Revillo, S. D.; and M. P. Thayer of Fond du Lac. |
