--------- Elstrom, Jennie (6 MAY 1864 – 28 SEP 1930)

Funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, Atwood (Clark Co., Wis.), last Wednesday fro Mrs. Jennie Carlson Elstrom, 66, who died at the home of her son, Elmer Elstrom on a farm near Atwood September 28, following a heart attack of but a few days duration. Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery at Atwood.

Mrs. Elstrom was born in Varmland, Norway, May 6, 1864. In October, 1865, she moved with her parents, Ole and Olinda Carlson, to America, locating at Melrose, Jackson Co., Wis.

She married Charles Elstrom on September 17, 1884, moving at once to Unity where they lived for four years until locating on the farm at Atwood, now owned by her son, Elmer Elstrom, where she lived until her death. Her Husband died Sept. 24, 1906.

During the many years Mrs. Elstrom was a resident of Atwood she made many friends, being a woman who always thought only of the poor and sick; never thinking of herself.

The deceased is survived by the following: daughters, Mrs. Carl Sorenson, Mrs. Leo Kraut, Mrs. William Larson, and Mrs. John Spaulding, California; sons, Ole, Elmer and Carl Elstrom; sisters, Mrs. Ed Mattson, Mrs. Anna Johnson, Mrs. Mary Carlson, all of Melrose, and Miss Lena Carlson of Black River Falls; brothers, Martin Carlson, Crosbyton, Texas, and Otto Carlson, Melrose.
