Loretta H. Kahn, 93, formerly of Milwaukee, died at the Colonial center, Colby, on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 26, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial will take place at a later date.

Loretta Henrietta Draheim was born on June 16, 1913, in Richland Center, to Herman and Anna (nee Lasse) Draheim. She was raised and received her education in the Richland Center and Lone Rock areas. After graduating from high school, she moved to Milwaukee and attended beauty college to become a beautician. She married Orville Kahn on Oct. 15, 1938, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Richland Center. They later divorced. She worked as a beautician in Milwaukee for more than 60 years, retiring in the early 1990’s. She moved to Loyal in 2000, to be near her son, Tom. She entered the Colonial Center in October of 2003 and has resided there until the time of her death. She was a former member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Milwaukee. She had many interests, but especially loved cooking, music and attending plays and musicals.

Survivors include one son, Tom Kahn, Loyal; one sister-in-law, Emojean Draheim, Richland Center; and two nephews, John and Charles Draheim.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and one brother, Clifford Draheim.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.
