NEILLSVILLE -- Edgar Eddy, age 86, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville.

Interment will be in the Dells Dam Cemetery in Neillsville.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Edgar Herbert Eddy was born on March 9, 1920, in Cataract, the son of Roy and Lula (Sage) Eddy. He was united in marriage to Margaret Clark on Aug. 20, 1940, in Waukon, Iowa.

They moved to Neillsville in 1954 and Edgar went to work as a road construction worker.

After retiring, he was a janitor for the Marshfield and Neillsville schools for a total of 17 years. He then worked as the maintenance man for Hardees in Neillsville for 11 years.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Gordon (Donna) Eddy, Merrillan, Harold "Hap" (Cheryl) Eddy, Neillsville, Dennis (Donna) Eddy, Neillsville, Edgar "Bud" (LuAnne) Eddy Jr., Burlington; daughters, Diana (Glen) Dyer, Sarona, Shirley (John) Langreck, Neillsville, and Kim (David) Wagner, Neillsville.

Edgar is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack (Betty) Eddy, Beloit, Gerald Eddy, Black River Falls, and Roy (Genny) Eddy, Merrillan; and one sister, Evelyn Heuer, Cataract.
