Dora C. Quelle

WITHEE -- Dora C. Quelle, 92, of Withee died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. The Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Grendys, Gregg Izewski, John Izewski, Benjamin Quelle, Caleb Quelle, Chad Quelle and Brad Quelle.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, and from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Dora was born April 25, 1914, to Herman and Clara (Russell) Doege. Dora and Herbert Harley Quelle were married Sept. 3, 1930. He preceded her in death. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1969 at the age of 54. She moved back to Owen in 1969. Dora loved nursing and worked as a nurse at the Clark County Health Care Center full time. She also worked at Havenet Nursing Home, Stanley Hospital and the Thorp Nursing Home. Dora retired after 20 years of nursing. She raised seven children and helped raise numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She traveled throughout the U.S. Canada, Mexico, and to Germany and Europe. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Dora is survived by her children, Dawn Izewski of Franklin Park, Ill., Ronald (Carol) Quelle of Bensenville, Ill., Doreen (Frank) Grendys of Phillips, Rodney (Cynthia) Quelle of Phillips and Randy (Lori) Quelle of Withee; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harley Quelle; two sons, Clarence "Geno" and Richard Quelle; her grandson, Joshua Quelle; her brothers and sisters, Reinhold, Herman, Ernest, Edwin, Alvena, Clara and Frieda; a son-in-law, John Izewski; a granddaughter, Cheryl Kay Izewski; and two daughters-in-law, Billie and Barbara Quelle.
