----Preston, Minnie Mary Rosetta (31 Dec. 1876 – March 1939)

Mrs. Minnie R. Preston, 63, wife of T. W. Preston of Independence, Kan., passed away at her home the latter part of March after an illness of about two years, though not seriously ill until a month before her death.

Minnie Mary Rosetta Morton was born December 31, 1876, at New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of A. J. Morton and Flora E. Goodnoe Morton. The family moved to Neillsville when she was a small child and resided near Shortville until she was 17 years of age, when they moved to Shiocton, Wis.

She was united in marriage to Theodore W. Preston July 15, 1893, at Stephenville, Wis., later moving to Ramona, Okla., where Mr. Preston was associated in the oil business for six years. In 1912 he sold his oil interests and moved to Independence, Kan., where the family has since resided.

Mrs. Preston was a member of the Christian Church, the Woman’s Relief Corps, Woman’s Auxiliary, A. T. A. and various other clubs.

Deceased is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Dora Taddiken, Independence, and one foster son, Carl Preston, at Bartlesville; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Swaidner, Tulsa, and a brother, Robert A. Morton of Maud, Okla. One son died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at the First Christian church of Independence, Rev. F. Humbert officiating. Burial was made in that city.
