March 16, 2005 ---Kobylarczyk, Louis Frank (August 13, 1912 - March 9, 2005) Louis F. Kobylarczyk, age 92, of Thorp, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday March 14, 2005 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Fr. Keith Apfelbeck officiated and burial followed in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a combined parish and Knights of Columbus rosary service held at 7:00 p.m. Louis Frank Kobylarczyk was born on August 13, 1912, in Thorp, WI, the son of Joseph and Julianna (Polnaszek) Kobylarczyk. He was raised on the family farm and educated at Sterling School. At the age of 14, he began playing drums in a 4-piece band, that his brother organized, “Tom & His Harmony Pals.” The band played together for 50 years. He was united in marriage to Antionette Mnichowicz on October 15, 1966 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Louis spent most of his life farming, buying cattle and hauling gravel. After retiring in 1977, he sold the farm, moved to Thorp and continued to play drums on occasion. He was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #4634. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Antionette of Owen; four sisters: Pauline Kobylarczyk of Thorp; Josephine (John) Rysz of North Riverside, IL; Martha Alger of Thorp; Marge Hoffman of East Moline, IL; two brothers: Leon (Elaine) of Plainfield, IL; Ray (Gladys) of Thorp, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Tom; and three sisters: Marie Chaplinski, Elizabeth Kobylarczyk and Louise Sorenson. |
