Thurs., 28 Sept. 1939 Quinlan, Mida (Marriage – 25 Sept. 1939) Miss Mida Quinlan, daughter of Mrs. Clara Winkes of 163 North Grand Avenue, Neillsville and Elliot Warlum, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Warlum, were united in marriage at 9:00 a.m. September 25, at St. Mary’s Parsonage, Rev. J. A. Biegler officiating. The single-ring ceremony was used. The couple was attended by her brother-in-law and twin sister, Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Fritz of Tuscola, Ill. The bride wore a pretty gown of dawn blue chiffon and a shoulder corsage which combined white roses and baby’s breath. The bridesmaid wore dusty pink chiffon. Her gown was styled exactly like the bride’s and she wore a similar corsage. Mrs. Warlum was graduated from Neillsville high school and has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. For the past six years she has been the Latin and mathematics instructor in the high school at Ladysmith. She and her sister, Emma, are widely known as the Quinlan twins, their similarity making it hard to distinguish one from the other. They were born in Neillsville and were constant companions throughout life until their work carried them to separate fields, these lovely young women even choosing to be married the same year. Mr. Warlum was graduated from Neillsville high school with the Quinlan twins, he and Miss Mida having formed a close friendship during their school days which grew through the years and terminated in courtship and married. Elliot is a young man of sterling qualities. As an electrician he is thorough and painstaking. He is employed in the electrical department of his father’s tinning and plumbing business. They left immediately after the wedding on a ten-day trip to the Canadian lakes, the bride choosing a navy plaid suit and navy coat for her going-away-outfit. They will be at home at 163 North Grand Avenue, Neillsville, after Oct. 15. |
