Thurs., 12 Oct. 1939 DeCremer, Charles Henry (21 Sept. 1879 – 5 Oct. 1939) Charles Henry DeCremer passed away at his home in this city October 5, 1939, at the age of 60 years and 14 days, death being due to a heart attack. Mr. DeCremer was born at Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin, September 21, 1879, to Charles and Jane 9Bardouche) DeCremer. Here he grew to young manhood and learned the cigar-maker’s trade, working later at this trade at Denmark and Neillsville, Wis. Twenty-six years ago he came to Neillsville and manufactured cigars, forming a partnership with Albert Daminski, which lasted for 12 years. He continued in this work, on a smaller scale, after the termination of the partner ship, for many years, and also ran a confectionery store for a time. On July 15, 1915, Mr. DeCremer and Miss Alma Bertha Daminski were united in marriage. Four children were born to them: Albert, who died in infancy; Clarence, Ruth and Norman, all at home. He is survived by his widow; three children, three brothers; Louis, Thief River Falls, Minn.; Israel, Peoria, Ill.; and Emil of Niagara, Wis.; one sister, (Hattie) Mrs. John Charte, Niagara, Wis.; four step-sisters: Eva, Irene, Alice and Isabelle, and one step-brother, Oliver. The pallbearers were: John Walk, Emil Wetzel, George Meihack, Fred Nemitz, Otto Wetzel and Frank Kuhl. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home at 1:30 and at St. John’s Lutheran church at 2:00, Rev. William A. Baumann conducting the rites. The school children sang “Abide with Me”. Relatives and friends in attendance from distant places included: Mr. and Mrs. Israel DeCremer, Peoria, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Emil DeCremer and Mrs. John Charte of Niagara, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schumacher and Mrs. Alice Footit and children, all of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sieflute, Loyal.
