----- Hegenbarth, Esther H. (25 DEC 1940)

Given in marriage by her father, Miss Esther Harriet Hegenbarth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hegenbarth, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Maurice Melin Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nielson, Oregon, Wis., at high noon on Christmas day. The ceremony was performed at United Lutheran Church at Greenwood by the Rev. A.E. Norson.

A soldier blue crepe dress with a wait-length jacket, matching hat, and black accessories were selected by the bride for her bridal ensemble. Her corsage was fashioned of pink and white sweet peas. Miss Beulah Gordee, bridesmaid, wore a smoke blue with black accessories and a corsage similar to that worn by the bride.

Mr. Nielson was attended by his brother, Clarence Nielson.

Mrs. A.E. Norson played the processional and recessional marches, and Misses Minerva, Leona, and Catherine Hegenbarth, sister of the bride, sang “I Love You Truly” as the couple left the church.

Pink, white and blue streamers decorated the home of the bride’s parents for the wedding dinner and reception that followed the ceremony. Abut 23 friends and relatives attended. After a short wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the bride and groom will be at home in Oregon.

Mr. Nielson is employed at the dormitories of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and was graduated from the Oregon High School. His wife is a graduate of the Greenwood High School, and for the past 14 months has been employed in Madison.

A prenuptial shower was held recently at the home of the bride’s parents, with Mrs. J.D. Wuethrich and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze as hostesses.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nielson, Oregon; Elmer Nielson and Clarence Nielson, Madison; O.M. Bronson, daughter, Vivian, and son, Owen, and Lucille Larson, all of Cashton.
