----Drescher, Emma (30 March 1863 – 14 Dec. 1939)

Mrs. Bernhardt Drescher, nee Schmidt of Chili, Wis., passed away early Thursday morning December 14, 1939. She was born March 30, 1863, at Kewaskum, Washington County, Wisconsin, and at the age of 13 she was united with the German Methodist Church of her community. She was 76 years, eight months and 15 days of age.

To this union nine children were born, six daughters, and three sons: Martha, Mrs. Wesley Henke, Reeseville, Wis.; Helen, Mrs. Luther Lindow, Chili; Otto Drescher, Chili; Miss Elsie Drescher, who gave her life to the care of her mother since the death of her father three years ago; Ezra Drescher, Riplinger; Mary, Mrs. William G. Lindow; Chili; Nelda, Mrs. Henry Schlinsog, Neillsville; Ervin Drescher, Chili; and Adelia, Mrs. Martin Rusch, Kansas City, Mo.

Soon after moving to the farm in the town of Lynn in the year of 1887, she united with her husband in the Evangelical Church of the community and remained a faithful member all her days. She was ever faithful as a member of the Ladies’ Aid Society, likewise of the Woman’s Missionary Society, and Sunday morning, for many years, found her in the German Bible Class for the Evangelical Sunday School of her church. All departments of the church life will miss her active presence.

She leaves to mourn her departure, six daughters, three sons, two half brothers, two half sisters, 18 grandchildren, together with a host of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were briefly held at the Drescher home in Chili, followed by a public service in the Evangelical church Sunday, December 16th, 1939. Interment was made in the Evangelical Cemetery, southwest of Chili, Pastor E. P. Manley, conducting the rites.

*First name of Mrs. Bernhardt Drescher was taken from Mr. Bernhardt Drescher’s obituary.
