----- Walter, Virginia (3 AUG 1942)

St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Greenwood (Clark County, Wis.) was the setting for the wedding of Miss Virginia Walter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walter, Greenwood, and Donald Nyysti, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Nyysti, also of Greenwood. The Rev. J.J. Novak officiated at the ceremony, which took place Saturday morning, Aug. 8, 1942, at 9 o’clock, in the presence of immediate relatives.

The bride was gowned in white marquisette, made with a shirred bodice, puffed sleeves and a full skirt. Her fingertip veil was worn with a tiara of flowers, and she carried a small bouquet of pink roses.

Her sister, Mrs. Ed Brumbaugh, who acted as matron of honor, was attired in pink marquisette.. Her shoulder corsage was of rubrum lilies. Mrs. Frank Hendricks, sister of the groom, who was bridesmaid, was dressed in light green satin. Her flowers also were rubrum lilies.

Ed Brumbaugh was best man. The bridegroom also was attended by Stanley Kowalzyk.

Twenty-two persons attended the reception held at the home of the bride’s parents, which was decorated with pink, green and white streamers. A wedding dinner also was served there. Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Roberts and sons, Donald and Richard, Highland Park, Ill.; Mrs. Frank Hendricks, son DuWayne and daughter June, North Chicago, Ill.; Richard Walter, Richmond, Ill.; Mrs. Robert Bukosky, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Stanley Kowalzyk and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Nyysti, all of Longwood; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Nyysti, Owen. The Rev. J.J. Novak also was present.

Mr. and Mrs. Nyysti plan to make their home at Greenwood, on route 4, where the bridegroom is engaged in farming.
