Little Florence Grobe, 9, Chili, who had been a patient at the Neillsville hospital for some time, passed away Wednesday afternoon.

Florence Ann Grobe, 9, passed away at Neillsville hospital Wednesday, February 14, after several months’ illness with brights disease.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grobe of the town of Fremont.
Florence was a pupil at the Forest Side School, being in the third grade. She took sick on the fifth of December and two days later she was taken to the Marshfield hospital where she received treatment until January 16. Being apparently much improved, she was brought home, but immediately suffered a relapse and on January 19 she was brought to the Neillsville hospital.
Florence was an exceptionally bright and happy child. She was loved by everyone, a favorite among her friends and classmates. Her sweet nature remained a part of her throughout the long illness which she bore with remarkable patience.
She is survived by her parents, a sister, Verna, and three brothers, Elmer, Louis and Edward.
Funeral services were held at the Chili Lutheran church (where she attended Sunday school for three years.); Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Arthur Laesch officiating. Interment was made in the Yolo Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Lola and Evelyn Peterson, Ethel and Hazel Beil, Lorraine Gildernick and Genevieve Montag. Six of her little friends and schoolmates acted as flower girls: Pauline Gildernick, Marjorie Montag, Deloris Peterson, Marian Lindow, Ferne Steltenpol and marger Bartsch.
Mrs. William Schimdtke sang “Jesus Lover of My Soul,” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” Mrs. Harold Montag accompanying on the organ.
The church was crowded to capacity with many standing outside. Out-of-town relatives and friends in attendance included: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Garbisch of Eagle River; August Grobe, Ledgerwood, South Dakota; Mrs. Minnie Dawson and daughter, June, and Walter Garbisch, Antigo; and Mrs. Susan Thoma, Neillsville.
