Surnames: Hanson, Prosa, Roherborn, Crockett, Oeplet, Spaete, Horehled, Schmidt, Koslowski, Kadatz, Buddenhagen, Anderson, Richmond, Schuette, Durst Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Thurs., 28 March 1940 Levis Mr. and Mrs. Nordner Hanson will move to a farm near Granton next week, had a family from North Dakota will move onto the farm formerly owned by Mr. Prosa. Donald Roherborn of the Hiawatha school won first place in the fifth and sixth grade division of the Clark County conservation essay contest. He may choose a raccoon or a pen of four pheasants for his prize. Mrs. O. A. Crockett was given a little surprise Thursday evening, when her daughter, Mrs. Max Opelt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Spaete, Mr. and Mrs. Horehled and the Schmidt boys came in to spend the evening. Easter services were held in the South Washburn Lutheran Church Sunday. The baby of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Koslowski of Pray was baptized and christened Donald Frederick. Quite a number of farmers were hauling lime the past week. Mrs. G. C. Kaddatz assisted in caring for the mother of Mrs. Charles Hanson the past week, who passed away after a lingering illness of several months. Mrs. Elmer Buddenhagen and Mrs. Harry Anderson each helped Mrs. G. C. Kaddatz quilt one day last week. William Richmond has been quite ill with the flu for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schuette and children visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Durst, at Fairchild Sunday. Many from this community attended the services in Neillsville Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Buddenhagen spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Reidel and daughter, Betty, as Mrs. Reidel and Betty were celebrating their **Rest cut off.
