Miss Marjorie M. Durst, Chicago, Ill., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Durst, Greenwood (Clark County, Wis.), became the bride of 1st Lt. Fred Mayor Blix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blix, Chicago, in a wedding ceremony read in the United Lutheran Chapel in Oak Park, March 15, 1945, at 5 p.m. The Rev. E.M. Hegge officiated at the candlelight service.

The bride wore a gold wool suit with black accessories and a corsage of white orchids. Miss Marie Johnson, as maid of honor, was attired in a black suit with olive green accessories and a shoulder bouquet of pink and white roses. Victor Blix was best man.

Miss Virginia Hegge played the wedding marches and the accompaniment for the sons, “Because” and “O Perfect Love,” sung by Miss Betty Hegge.

Following the ceremony a reception was given for the couple at the home of the groom’s parents.

Lt. Blix, a graduate of the Carl Schwiz High School in Chicago, received his B.A. Degree and the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana. He entered military service in 1944 and has been stationed at Carlisle Barracks, Pa., and Camp Gordon, Ga. He was transferred only recently to Camp Beale, Calif.

Mrs. Blix, a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1942, is enrolled in nurse’s training at the Lutheran Deaconness Hospital, Chicago. At present she is visiting in Greenwood with her parents for two weeks. She will return April 2 to Chicago to continues with her studies.
