Surnames: TRICKIE KORNTVED ----- Source: : Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wis.) 12/27/1945 ----- Trickie, Frieda (20 DEC 1945) Miss Frieda Trickie of LaCrosse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Trickie, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Peter Korntved, son of Mr. and Mrs. Soren Korntved, Greenwood, exchanged wedding vows in the parsonage of Grace Methodist Church at Greenwood, Dec. 20, 1945, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiating at the double ring service. For the occasion the bride wore a wine velvet frock and Miss Irene Korntved, Marshfield, sister of the groom, in a blue wool dress, was maid of honor. Clifford Trickie, Greenwood, a brother of the bride, attended the groom. The immediate relatives and closest friends were entertained at the Trickie home at dinner and supper, and that evening a dance was held in the East Side Hall at Willard. Following a wedding trip to Oshkosh and Chicago, the couple will return to Greenwood. Mrs. Korntved has been a telephone operator at LaCrosse and her husband is a discharge veteran of World War II. The groom, a staff sergeant at the time of his discharge sept. 13, 1945, at Camp McCoy, has been employed by Arthur Carl, builder and contractor at Neillsville, since her returned to Greenwood. He entered military service in October 1940, going to Camp Beauregard, La., with the Neillsville National Guard unit. From there he was transferred to Camp Livingston, La., and then to Fort Devens, Mass., and Fort Ord, Calif. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations, returning to the States in November 1944. He then was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wis., Camp Ella, Ill, and Camp…(the rest of my copy was cut off). |
