Wearing a lustrous white satin wedding gown designed with an entrained hoop skirt and a short veil of illusion caught to a tiara of orange blossoms and seed pearls, Miss Barbara J. Curtis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Curtis, Eau Claire, Mich., became the bride of Lt. Lloyd M. Kenyon, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Kenyon, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

The Rev. Seth Clay officiated at the 8 p.m. ceremony, Feb. 14, 1946, in the Community Congregational Church at Eau Claire, before the altar banked with flowers and illumined with gleaming tapers in burnished candelabra. Miss Betty Grow was soloist.

Miss Betty Kenyon, a sister of the groom, in a blue net-over-satin frock styled with a hipling bustle, and carrying pink roses and orchid gladioli, was maid of honor. Misses Elvira Konter, South Bend, Ind., and Yolande Winkex, Kalamazoo, Mich., in similar dresses of pink net and satin and holding bouquets of pink tea roses and light pink gladioli, served as bridesmaids.

For her wedding the bride carried white orchids surrounded with white carnations and her silver necklace was a gift from the bridegroom. He had purchased the jewelry in India. She was presented in marriage by her father.

Garret Skones, Benton Harbor, Mich. A brother-in-law of the bride, was best man.

A reception at the Curtis home followed the service. A large three-tier wedding cake decorated with hearts, sugar bells and doves, and flanked with low bowls of gardenias and tapers in crystal candelabra, formed the centerpiece at the table. The young couple was toasted in champagne.

Both mothers of the bride and groom were attired in black dresses and had corsages of gardenias.

That same evening Lt. and Mrs. Kenyon left for Mexico City, where they will spend a month’s honeymoon. When they return they will be at home to friends in Milwaukee where the groom is employed by the Wis. Steel and Bridge Co.

Mrs. Kenyon was graduated from the Eau Claire High School and attended Western State Teachers College at Kalamazoo. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Greenwood High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He recently returned to the States from China after a year’s service overseas.

Mrs. Kenyon, Greenwood, and her daughter, Betty, a student at Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point, attended the wedding.
