Miss Beatrice G. Burchardt of Milwaukee and Grant W. Sloniker, Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sloniker, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), were married at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 1947, at Wesley Methodist Church in Milwaukee.

The church altar was decorated with bouquets of white mums for the candlelight service, during which a soloist sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The Rev. Walter Taylor was in charge of the nuptial rites.

Mrs. Leonard E. Benson, the former Maxine Sloniker, a sister of the groom, was matron of honor and Leonard Benson was the best man. Miss Corinne Sloniker, Milwaukee, another sister of the groom, and Clarence Scoviak, Beloit, the bride’s cousin, were other attendants.

The bridal attire included a white chiffon gown with silver braid on bodice and sleeves and a headpiece of white rose buds from which was suspended a fingertip veil with lace edging. The bride’s shower bouquet included white roses, baby mums, and gladioli.

Mrs. Benson and Miss Sloniker were dressed similarly in formals of black velvet bodices and pale blue and pink skirts, respectively. Both had carnations, roses, and gladioli.

Both a reception and dance were held at White Rose Hall in Milwaukee, after which Mr. and Mrs. Sloniker left for a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin. After Feb. 1 they will make their home in Milwaukee, where he is employed as a bookkeeper. His wife worked 4 ½ years for the Title Guaranty Co. of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Mr. Sloniker is a 1939 graduated of Greenwood High School and Mrs. Sloniker was graduated in 1942 from the Girls Trade and Technical High School in Milwaukee.

Guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sloniker, Greenwood; Justin Sloniker, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Burchardt, Beaver Dam; Ed Manthey, Eden; Lee Jackson, Greenwood; and other relatives and friends from Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, Mayville and Racine.
